Getting started

Create your first project
From the project list, click New project and follow the onboarding.
Set up your AI (BYOK)
Go to Settings → AI and enter your OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini API key.
Navigate the editor
The left sidebar lists your chapters and scenes. Click a scene to open it in the editor.

The workshop at a glance

The three areas
Left: your chapters and scenes. Center: the page where you write. Right: the Cortex panel — the one keeping watch over your story as you move forward.
The Cortex panel
It analyzes what you write and shows two kinds of things: suggestions (a character or place to add to your story's memory) and alerts (a possible contradiction with what you've already established). It's designed to stay silent when unsure.
Confirm / Dismiss
Golden rule: Trame suggests, you decide. "Confirm" writes a fact into your story's memory — Cortex will use it to keep watch. "Dismiss" sets the suggestion or alert aside, and Cortex learns to stay quiet about that case.
Tuning the alerts
If Cortex talks more than you'd like: project menu → Alert settings. You can mute entire families of alerts there, and turn them back on anytime.
The Nexus, your story's memory
Every confirmed character, place or object has its own entry: appearance, relationships, established facts, the chapters where it appears. These entries are what Cortex checks your writing against.
Import and export
Project menu → Import to bring in an existing manuscript (an excerpt is enough to start). Export to leave with all of your work, anytime — your words belong to you.
